SLAP LIVE, LIVE!

The event started Thursday for the early birdies. The day was meant for people who would like to arrive at their own pace, not rushing in and just barely getting settled before their first match begins as is probably the case for many of those who will arrive Friday. So instead of playing in the Counter-Strike tournament, people had a good time competing in the FIFA and pool tournaments. Thursday was also the day where we: Nix0n, Naz, and I arrived; although a little late, after being delayed by a bit of bad planning, we arrived at around 3 am, which meant we got a chance to exercise our diplomacy skills convincing the admins that we should also be given access despite the time of arrival. I’m sure they were just kidding though. Shortly after, we hit the sack.
Friday! After a very short 3 hours I couldn’t sleep any more due to my ever missing sleeping sack (which I actually recovered tonight!) I started messing with our HLTV setup… Hours pass…
The Counter-Strike tournament started at 5 pm, and had a bit of a rough start, at least from our point of view. We had some trouble with our local HLTV’s crashing and such, which I am sure the spectators, who followed from the start, noticed. It got under control and we ended up getting some good matches broadcasted. We will be working on getting the demos uploaded later tonight, so do yourself a favor and watch some of them when you get the time.
The results of the groupplay can be found in our coverage section or if you want, take the short route by clicking here. Only the winner of each group will proceed to the A-tournament. The rest will battle for a place in the B-tournament. The end of the groupplay marks the start of the Danish ESWC pre-qualifier.
The following teams have signed up:

The pre-qualifier consists of two eight-team single elimination brackets and the winners of these brackets will then qualify for the real ESWC.dk qualifier, which is held at a later date in Copenhagen.
The A, B and C tournament will continue tomorrow at 10 am CET, while the next round of matches of the ESWC.dk prequalifier will start at 2 pm.
In addition to our HLTV broadcast, you can also follow the event from this stream. It features introduction movies about CS, live commentary, and an overview of the place in the meantime.
